Rick Piereck, Esq.
Attorney at Law
Rick Piereck is the founder and managing attorney of Piereck Law, LLC, a criminal defense and litigation-focused firm based in Southern Maryland. With a career rooted in public service and a passion for justice, Mr. Piereck brings extensive courtroom experience, military discipline, and a deep commitment to protecting the rights of individuals and families across Maryland.
Mr. Piereck’s dedication to service began early—he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves as a high school senior and served honorably during the Global War on Terrorism. While balancing deployments and military responsibilities, he earned a Bachelor of Public Administration degree from Florida International University. He later attended American University Washington College of Law, where he served on the Administrative Law Review and competed on the school’s nationally recognized mock trial team.
After earning his Juris Doctor, Mr. Piereck was awarded the prestigious JD Distinguished Fellowship and began his legal career with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. Stamm in the Circuit Court for St. Mary’s County, working on a wide range of matters involving criminal law, family disputes, civil litigation, and real estate issues.
Mr. Piereck served as a prosecutor in both Prince George’s County and Calvert County, handling a broad spectrum of criminal cases—from minor infractions to serious violent felonies. He has litigated bench and jury trials across Maryland, giving him a deep, working knowledge of the courtroom from both the prosecution and defense perspectives.
In 2018, Mr. Piereck founded Piereck Law, LLC with the goal of providing high-quality, client-focused legal representation to individuals facing criminal charges, DUI/DWI allegations, peace and protective orders, probation violations, and other legal challenges. His experience on both sides of the courtroom gives him a strategic edge in crafting smart, aggressive defenses tailored to each client’s unique situation.
BEYOND THE COURTROOM
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Piereck is deeply committed to his community. He regularly volunteers his time, mentors young people, and supports local programs that promote justice, education, and opportunity. Giving back is not just a professional value—it’s a personal priority.
A lifelong athlete and competitor, Mr. Piereck is also a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. He trains and competes regularly, embracing the discipline, humility, and strategic thinking that the sport demands—values he also brings to his legal practice.
Raised in Miami, Florida, Mr. Piereck now proudly calls Southern Maryland home, where he lives with his wife and children. As a military veteran, devoted husband, father, and community advocate, he understands what’s at stake for his clients and their families.
